The self-catering lodges we manage are located in the Greater Kruger Park which includes Hoedspruit [Limpopo Province] – a mere 40 min. travel to Orpen Gate, Kruger Park
We do NOT provide cleaning services during your stay – if needed, this can be booked in advance at an additional fee.
All our units have been treated with an anti-malaria detergent spray as a preventative measure. Please use anti-mosquito lotions and/or burn citronella candles outside when you BBQ. Aircons [in rooms] are a sure way to prevent mosquitoes visiting!
Most of our units offer SPLASH pools, aircons; dstv satellite. Guest are NOT allowed to make use of the pool at the camping area
We offer guests a Pick & Pay food store, butchery, chemist, liquor shop, restaurants, a day-spa [pedicure, nail bar and skin care] with licensed restaurant & coffee shop, sushi bar and tourist shops all situated in the Fig Rock Centre next to the entrance of the estate.
On the estate you may drive on the estate`s various game drive routes, view dams with elevated bird hides where animals and birds quench their thirst.
Roaming freely are impala, kudu, zebra, giraffe, warthog, eland, wildebeest, waterbuck [to name a few] and 170+ bird species. We sometimes encounter hyena, leopard [currently 2 – 3 resident leopards], lion and wild dogs, making your visit even more excited and with ample opportunity for good photos
Wildlife Activities: Hoedspruit Cheetah Project, Mholoholo Rehabilitation Centre, Blyde Spa, Hoedspruit Spa, Mapusha Weaving, Swadini Snake Park, Kapama elephant back safaris, hot air ballooning, Jessica the hippo, the silk farm and much more!
Panorama Route: Three Rondavels, Blyde River Canyon, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, God’s Window, World’s View, The Pinnacle, Lisbon – and Berlin Falls and Graskop Gorge – all within a 1.5 hr day-trip from the Estate. Lots of small gift shops and restaurants on the way
Fishing & boating on Klaserie Dam. Blydepoort dam offers game viewing excursions, white river rafting on Blyde River or in the Olifants gorge [Abel Erasmus Pass]; game view cruise on a sundowner’s boat cruising the Olifants River
Golf: Hoedspruit Drakensig Club [9-hole] overlooks Drakensberg Mountains. Hans Merensky Course [18- hole] is on the edge of Kruger Park – here animals have the right of way! Phalaborwa [Hans Merensky Golf Course] is 1 hr. travel from the estate
Hot & cold weather can be expected at any time with chilly evenings. Please use sunscreen to protect your body against the severe African sun, especially the Limpopo area. Hoedspruit and Kruger are malaria areas in summer months only
Arrival after 14:00-24:00; departure 10:00. Speed limit strictly enforced at 30km/hr – hefty speeding fines if you don’t adhere
Enjoy the wildlife and laid-back [s]low-veld living! NO noise or parties allowed – this is enforced by management and non-behaving guests will be escorted out of the reserve
No motor– or quad bikes allowed in the estate [bikes on trailers included]. Our management team on the estate is on standby to ensure you have a memorable holiday
PLEASE NOTE: enough pre-paid electricity will be available for your stay [which management topped-up before your arrival]. Should guests need more pre-paid this is available at an additional cost – top-up at Wildlife Management Offices next to the gate [ask security]. ONLY available Mondays – Fridays from 08:00 – 16:00. Don’t be caught in the dark!
Air conditioners and lights are to be switched off when not in use – please ensure all doors and windows are locked when not at home.
